FUNDACIÓ MIQUEL MARTÍ I POL

Folding screen consisting of four illustrated panels used as a theatre set which allows the children to enter into the world of the writer Miquel Martí i Pol. The puppets, created specifically for this occasion, embody the characters of the poet´s storybooks and poems.

Design and illustration get together to strengthen the relationship between shape and content. The panels are independent one to the other and though they have continuity through the whole illustration (only the shape, not the colour), they can be used and adapted according to the space and also the story wanting to tell.

On the front part of the folding screen, the author´s town, Roda de Ter, and its surroundings are represented through the four seasons of the year. On the other side, a detail of some of the elements appearing on the front part. The second one wants to be a more intimate scene, allowing us to enter visually inside the town, a kitchen, the factory called “La Blava” and the poet´s office
