Proposal for the advertising campaign “Sounds of the city”, under the slogan: “The city, soundboard of the citizens”.
This is a gorgeous metaphor of a young pianist who creates music through the movements of her delicate fingers, representing the citizens of the United Kingdom who create sounds through their day-to-day activities. The pianist’s music resonates in the piano soundboard, just like the city is the soundboard of the citizens’ sounds.
The Association of Illustrators (AOI), in partnership with London Transport Museum (LTM) each year organise the “Prize for Illustration”. The suggested theme is “Sounds of the city”, an illustrated interpretation of urban sound.
The competition is open to illustrators and students of illustration from throughout the world. The top 100 entries selected are displayed in an exhibition at London Transport Museum, whilst the winning image is displayed on the London Underground.
